Right at the start of the last flying season, our itinery took us to Mendoza, Argentina. En route, we flew over the Río de la Plata and the Paraná River. We continued on to Santa Fe, where we cleared customs and still had time to enjoy this wonderful city. As is often the case, we met a local pilot who took us on a private tour of the city that evening—simply delightful! Next, we headed to Córdoba, a charming university city nestled at the foot of an impressive mountain range. Afterward, we flew for hours over the Argentine Pampas—passing salt lakes along the way—until we reached the foothills of the Andes, a region boasting the perfect climate for winemaking.
Other tours took us through Uruguay, a much smaller country, yet one that is no less diverse and fascinating.
